Field Work Notices
Meter Update Notification
Crawford Electric Cooperative technicians are updating the metering system that records and transmits kilowatt-hour readings. This work is part of our regular efforts to ensure that our electric distribution system continues to deliver the best-possible service to our members.
Right-of-Way Work Notification
Crawford Electric Cooperative maintains power line rights-of-way to keep trees and brush from interfering with the safety and reliability of your electric service. We use an Integrated Vegetation Management approach, which involves mechanical clearing and the use of selective herbicides.
Asplundh Tree Expert Co will be working in the areas serviced by the Steelville and Clover Bottom substations through early 2017. Crews will be working on maintenance of a clear right-of-way (15 feet on both sides of the center-most power line). This will include, but is not limited to:
- Clearing all trees that are or have the potential to grow more than 10 feet tall.
- Identify and remove all power line hazard trees
This work is a necessary part of our efforts to maintain your electric distribution system to provide you with the highest quality electric service. Members will receive an automated courtesy call prior to work in their area.
