Crawford Electric employees have raised close to $250,000 for charitable organizations through an annual golf tournament. The golf tournament teed off in 1999 as part of the fundraising efforts for Relay for Life. In the first 10 years, the tournament raised a little over $71,000 for the American Cancer Society.
The tournament has continued to grow, raising money for a variety of local non-profit organizations. Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital (MBSH) Oncology department, the Cardio and Rehab Units and the Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital Foundation all have benefited.
Other beneficiaries over the years have been C.A.M.P. for a Cause, an organization that helps community members with healthcare expenses, and area programs that fill backpacks with food for students in need. In recent years, a portion of the proceeds have also been donated to Crawford Electric’s Operation Round Up, the charitable program that funds grants to co-op members who need assistance after emergency situations such as home fires or medical crises.
